APGH-CET-2008 Association Post Graduate Homoeopathy – Common Entrance Test - 2008 1 INTRODUCTION: The entrance examination for the Post Graduate Courses in Homoeopathy M.D. (Hom.) in the State of Maharashtra for the Academic year 2008-09 shall be conducted by the Competent Authority appointed by the Association of Management of Homoeopathic Medical Colleges of Maharashtra (AMHMCM). The entrance examination shall be conducted for all the seats in the private unaided homoeopathic colleges. 2 COMPETENT AUTHORITY: Dr. R.R Padmawar, Ex. Director of Ayurveda, Maharashtra, state is appointed by the Association as the Competent Authority and will be available at Association’s office. The Competent Authority will supervise the conduct of APGH-CET-2008 and also supervise evaluation of answers and declaration of results & merit list. The Competent Authority will issue necessary executive instruction for implementation of these rules and provide relevant information to be published and communicated. The Competent Authority will be fully responsible for evaluation of answer sheets, declaration of results and merit list and conduct of examination. 3 NUMBER OF SEATS: The list of postgraduate courses available is given in Annexure A and the number of seats in the respective Colleges is given in Annexure F 4 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 4.1 M.D. (Homoeopathy) Regular Courses: 4.1.1 A candidate who has passed final B.H.M.S. Examination or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the second schedule to the Act after completing 1 year compulsory rotating internship. 4.1.2 Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and surgery or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the second schedule to the Act after undergoing a course of study of not less than 2 years duration (Graded degree) 4.1.3 A candidate who has completed 1 year compulsory internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 08/07/2008 to can appear for APGH-CET-2008. 4.2 Eligibility for M.D. Homoeopathy External Course: (Subject to Permission From CCH/ AYUSH/MUHS) 4.2.1 A candidate who possess Degree mentioned in para 4 or has passed the final examination of a Diploma Course in Homoeopathy of not less than four years and fulfils any of the following conditions shall be the eligibility for admission to the examinations as an external candidate. (a) Holds a full time regular post not below the rank of Assistant Professor. OR (b) Has teaching experience of not less than seven years in a recognized Homoeopathic Medical College. OR (c) Has ten years professional experience from the date of registration. 5 NON ELIGIBLITY OF CANDIDATES: Following candidates are not eligible for applying to APGH-CET-2008: 5.1 Candidates who are not completing internship on or before 08/07/08. 5.2. Candidates who are registered for PG Degree and have not completed the terms. 5.3. Candidates who are previously registered and pursuing / completed the PG degree course or have obtained PG degree. Note: The candidates should read all instructions of eligibility and he/she will be fully responsible for fulfillment of all the conditions of eligibility. The Competent Authority will not be responsible for screening of the eligibility of the candidates. 6. APPLICATION PROCEDURE 6.1 Prescribed application forms can be obtained from the Notified Centers against DD drawn on the Nationalized Bank in favour of AMHMCM payable at Mumbai for Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) between 10:30 am to 04:30 pm. (Annexure B) 6.2 Application forms will also be available from Association’s office by post with an additional DD of Rs. 200/- for postal charges. 6.3 The Application Form must be filled by the candidate in his/her own handwriting using black ballpoint pen. The application form complete in all respect shall be submitted directly to the office of AMHMCM, Mumbai either in person or by Post / Courier. The filled in application is to be duly returned in the Envelope provided with the application form along with DD favour of AMHMCM payable at Mumbai for Rs. 1,500/- (Rupees One thousand Five Hundred only). 6.4 Application Form should be submitted by Post and must be accompanied by a self-addressed and stamped envelope along with Receipt-cum-Identity Card (Annexure C) for acknowledgement. 6.5 Incomplete application forms will be rejected. 6.6 The official at the AMHMCM office while accepting the application form shall issue the Receipt-cum-Identity Card attesting the photograph of the candidate with signature and stamp. 6.7 Candidate will receive the Admit Card by Post by 10/04/08. In case the candidate does not receive Admit Card by 10/04/08 he/she should approach the Association Office for further instructions. 6.8 The candidate is required to preserve the Receipt-Cum-Identity Card and Admit Card for all future reference & correspondence. 6.9 The candidate shall submit one and only one application form. In case candidate submits more than one application form, he/she shall be disqualified from appearing for APGH-CET-2008. 6.10 In case of loss of admit card by the candidate, it shall be obligatory on the part of candidate to procure duplicate Admit card by paying fees of Rs. 500/- from the office of the Centre In-charge not later than one hour before the commencement of examination on production of receipt cum identity card and sufficient evidence to prove that he/ she is the genuine candidate. 6.10 The Association will not be responsible for Postal delays. 7. CONDUCT OF APGH-CET 2008 7.4. All the eligible candidates are required to take the APGH-CET-2008 at their own cost.
7.5. The APGH-CET
2008 will be conducted on 20/04/08 between 7.6. The APGH-CET-2008 will be conducted in Mumbai city only. 7.7. The examination will be conducted in the English language. 7.8. APGH-CET-2008 paper will be of three hours duration containing 250Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Questions will be of single best response objective type with four answer options. Each correct response shall be awarded one mark. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers. Scratching, overwriting, tick mark multiple answers will be considered as wrong answers and no marks be awarded to them. 7.9. The Common Entrance Test shall be of the standard of B.H.M.S. Examination and shall cover all the subjects of B.H.M.S. Course. The tentative number of questions of each subject will be as given below: 1. Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic Philosophy 25 2. Homoeopathic Repertory 25 3. Homoeopathic Materia Medica 25 4. Medicine (Gen- Medicine, Pediatrics, Psych.) 35 5 Preventive & Social Medicine 20 6. Surgery(Gen Surgery,ENT,Ophthalmology,Orthopedic) 20 7. OBGY 20 8. Anatomy 10 9. Physiology 15 10. Pharmacy 25 11. Forensic Medicine & Toxicology 15 12. Pathology 15 ----------------------- 250 8. RESULT: 8.10. The Competent Authority shall conduct APGH-CET-2008, get the answer- sheets evaluated and prepare the Merit list. 8.1 The Competent Authority, APGH-CET 2008, will prepare a Merit list indicating Merit number, Name, Marks scored by the candidate. 8.2 The Merit list will be available only on AMHMCM website on 15/05/08 8.3 The statement of marks of the candidate indicating marks obtained and merit number of the candidate will be dispatched by Post. 8.4 The candidate who wants duplicate mark sheet will have to apply to the Competent Authority with prescribed fees of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) paid by D.D. drawn in favour of AMHMCM payable at Mumbai. 8.5 There will be no rechecking/revaluation of the answer sheets. However the candidate can apply for verification of marks to the Competent Authority APGH-CET-2008 through Dean/Principal of respective Notified Center by 22/05/08 in prescribed form (Annexure D) along with prescribed fees of Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) to be paid by Demand Draft in favor of “AMHMCM” payable at Mumbai. 8.6 The final mark list will be put up on the website by 27/05/08
9 MERIT LIST 9.1 To be eligible for selection to 85% of the seats in PG Homoeopathy Courses a candidate must have scored not less than 50% of the marks at APGH-CET-2008. (This is subject to modification by the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti). 9.2 15% of the seats (NRI) will be filled in by the management from candidates fulfilling the norms as laid down by the CCH 9.3 TIE-BREAKER: In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the APGH-CET-2008, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined in the order of preference as under: 9.3.1 A candidate with two years rural experience will be preferred with respect to one seat per subject as per the CCH regulations. 9.3.2 The Candidate with more aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at First, Second, Third & Fourth B.H.M.S. Examination taken together shall be preferred. If the tie still persists. 9.3.3 The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at Final B.H.M.S. Examination will be preferred. If the tie still persists. 9.3.4 The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted into percentage) at Second B.H.M.S. Examination will be preferred if the tie still persists. 9.3.5 If the tie persists, the older candidate will be preferred. 9.4 The statement of marks of the candidate indicating Merit Number, Name, Marks Scored, will be dispatched on the address filled in the application form by the candidate. 9.5 In case of any typographical error in mark sheet e.g. Name, Age, Sex Category, etc., representation should be submitted within 24 hours from the date of distribution of mark sheet to the Competent Authority, AMHMCM, Mumbai. 10 SELECTION PROCESS 10.1 The selection to a Course/College will be made as per Merit-Cum-Preference given by the candidate. 10.2 Rules pertaining to Caste-based Reservation applicable in the State of Maharashtra will determine the selection process with respect to the reserved seats. The selection process shall be as follows: 10.3 The Preference form shall be given to the candidates immediately after the APGH-CET-2008 is over at the examination centre itself. 10.4 Eligible candidates from APGH-CET-2008 Merit List will be required to fill in the “Preference Form”. The preference form should be submitted directly to the office of the AMHMCM on or before 03/06/08. Preference form received after 03/06/08 will not be considered. The Preference filled by the candidates will be centrally processed and the final merit list prepared. As per the Merit-cum-Preference the selection to be made and the list of selected candidate will be declared on the website. As per the declared Selection List the candidates should report to the allotted college and join in the specified period. 10.5 The list of subjects and college codes is provided in Annexure E. 10.6 Subject and College Codes: a. The subject and college code is a four digit number specific for each subject and College combination. b. Subject and College code numbers are specific. c. Code number represents a particular subject is a specific college. E.g.
d. Subject & College Codes are given to course existing in those colleges. For these codes one and more number of seats may be available. Therefore subject and college code choices can be given as preferences. e. Seat distribution Chart (Annexure F): Contains distributions of available seats. The college wise & subject wise distribution will be made available on the website of AMHMCM. Seat distribution chart is subject to change as per instructions of University/ Availability/ Non availability of PG Teachers etc. 10.7 PREFERENCE FORM: Candidate will collect the Preference Form after the examination is over on 20/04/08 and fill in the relevant information along with his/her Roll Number, Merit Number, APGH-CET-2008 Marks and sent it in the envelope provided by the AMHMCM. Preference Form should be handled carefully. Please do not fold, staple and spoil in any way as Preference Forms are to be scanned. 10.8 Candidate will be issued only one Preference Form. Another Preference Form will not be issued to the candidate on any grounds. 10.9 In case the candidate is not eligible for admission according to the rules the Preference Form issued, already will be treated as cancelled. 10.10 Candidate should read all instructions before filling the Preference Form. Candidate should note carefully the subject and college code. The candidates are instructed to make 2 photocopies of the Preference Form, 1 photocopy may be used as specimen copy to fill in the same for practice. Once the candidate is satisfied with his/her filled in choices in the specimen copy, he/she may fill on the Preference Form provided by AMHMCM by using Black Ball Point Pen. Second photo-copy will be retained by the candidate as his/her office copy for record. 10.11 Candidate should write subject of Preference and college code numbers in the boxes. One digit in each box (4 digits in 4 boxes). Candidate should write the codes with Black Ball Point Pen with neat legible and clear handwriting. Please do not fold, pin, the preference form as the form will be scanned by the computer. 10.12 Candidate can fill minimum 1 preference or any desired number or maximum preferences available. The same subject and college code should not be filled more than once. In case the candidate fills the same code more than once, higher Preference will be considered and subsequent repeated Preference Number will be ignored. If the candidate fills any wrong code of subject and college, it will be rejected. 10.13 If a candidate does not give Preference for a particular subject and college then it means that he / she is not interested in those subjects and college combinations. Candidates should note that there will be No Change / Addition / Deletion in the Preference at a later stage. 10.14 The Candidate selected as per his / her Merit cum Preference for a particular subject in the particular college, then he / she has to join the course as per procedure. In failure to join the allotted course in the stipulated time, he/she is debarred from subsequent admission process of APGH-CET-2008. 10.15 In case the candidate is not selected in the first round, then he/she remains eligible for the subsequent round for the preferences which he/she has given in the Preference Form. 10.16 For filling of vacant seats after first round same Preference Form will be considered and no separate Preference Form will be required to be filled in by the candidate. 10.17 Candidate should submit only one Preference Form, Submission of more than one Preference Form will lead to disqualification. 10.18 Candidate should note that the Preference of subject and college combination codes once entered in the data shall be final and irrevocable. Thereafter, there can not be any change, addition or deletion of Preference entered by candidate. This final data shall be used in entire selection process for the admission to Postgraduate Courses. 11 SELECTION PROCEDURE: 11.1 The collected data will be centrally processed for the selection of candidates for P.G. Homoeopathy Courses. 11.2 The selection will be done as per Merit and Preference given by candidates in Preference Form. 11.3 The list of candidates selected for P.G. Homoeopathy Courses shall be displayed on the AMHMCM website www.amhmcm.org. 11.4 The first selected list will be declared on 10/06/08 bsite of /AMHMCM and the list of selected candidates will be sent to all concerned colleges. Candidates should report and pay the fees and submit all the original certificates with one set of attested Xerox copies of all the certificates, at the respective Colleges by 17/06/08 No separate selection letter will be issued to the selected candidates. 11.5 If the Candidate does not report within this date, his/her selection stands cancelled and will be debarred from the subsequent process. 11.6 Filling Vacant Seats: 11.6.1 After selection in first round if the candidate desires to retain the same selection (Subject & College) and does not want to take any further betterment then he/she can do so by filling ‘Status Retention Form’ in prescribed proforma (Annexure G). Status Retention Form is to be submitted to the Competent Authority through the college, where he/she is admitted. However, candidate should note that he/she will be deleted from the further selection process for the academic year 2008-2009 11.6.2 After the first round, the vacant seats, if any, will be filled in the second round of selection on 01/07/08 For these seats the selected as well as the not selected candidate who have filled in the Preference Form are eligible except those who have opted for status retention. 11.6.3 The candidate selected in the first round except the candidates who have submitted the status retention form as per procedure will be considered for betterment (higher preference exercised) in the subsequent round. The shift in such betterment shall be compulsory and mandatory. Such candidates will have to collect the original certificates and admissible refund of fees as per procedure mentioned in APGH-CET-2007 Brochure and join the New Course and college before 08/07s/08 11.6.4 Candidate who has confirmed his / her admission may cancel it by submitting an application to the concerned Dean. 11.7The Procedure for refund of fees shall be as follows. 11.7.1 Refund of fees by the College after change of College/course for higher preference by the Competent Authority for the same year, the deduction of Rs 2000/- from the tuition fees up to 04/07/08 · After 06/07/08, the cancellation will be Rs. 4000/ · After 08/07/08, no refund. 11.7.2 Candidate who has confirmed his/her admission wishes to cancel the admission for any other reason except betterment the refund of fees will be as follows: · Upto 01/07/08 Permissible deduction 30% of the remitted fee. · Upto 08/07/08 Permissible deduction 50% of the remitted fee. · After 08/07/08, no refund. 11.8 If a candidate expires or becomes invalid within three months from the date of admission, full refund shall be made after deducting Rs 1000/- as administrative charges. 11.9 Any seat remaining vacant after the second round of admission will be filled in by the specific college, inviting applications from eligible candidates fulfilling the CCH norms. 11.10 Last date of admission process of filling vacant seats for Postgraduate Courses is 23/07/08 11.11 The candidates must produce original certificates at the time of admission to the college and a set of attested photocopy of each of the document as per the list given below. The candidate should bring the following documents:
11.12 The registration once granted is valid only if the teacher and the Dean are satisfied about regularity, diligent persuasion of studies by the student as well as good conduct. 11.13 Candidate selected for admission shall be subject to disciplinary rules of University / Institution / Government and Management. 11.14 A candidate selected for Postgraduate Degree will not be allowed for change of subject. 11.15 In case of dispute in the matter of allotment of seat/ course / Institution or any other matter pertaining to the provisional selection or cancellation of admission, the decision of the management of the concerned institution shall be final and binding. 11.16 A candidate will have to deposit all his/her relevant original certificates, documents along with the complete tuition fees to the concerned college. 12. DISCIPLINE: 12.1. Any candidate / authorized representative or accompanying person is found obstructing the admission process, trying to influence in unlawful manner/creating nuisance, the candidate shall the liable for disqualification from the process of selection. The decision taken by the Management in this respect shall be final and binding. 12.2 All candidates selected shall be subject to the disciplinary rules of the Institution, University, Government and Management. 13. LEGAL JURISDICTION: All disputes pertaining to the conduct of examination and selection process shall fall within the jurisdiction of Mumbai High Court bench at Mumbai only or of the legal jurisdiction of the institution concerned. |
